Unity from division: A personal account of the crisis in The Episcopal Church
David will give a personal reflection on his experience of maintaining fidelity to the gospel in the face of the liberal erosion of orthodox Anglican belief and practice in the United States. This will be followed by a question and discussion time chaired by Bishop Glenn Davies.
David, a graduate of Wheaton College and the Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, led his Evangelical congregation at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida out of The Episcopal Church (TEC) in the United States in 2006 to join the Gulf Atlantic Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America. ACNA currently has 681 congregations and 292 missionary partner congregations in the USA and Canada. St John’s Vancouver, led by David Short, is in this network of orthodox Anglican churches.
David and his Australian wife Cathie, daughter of Jonathan and Ruth Harris, are in Australia until the end of June while he completes his thesis prior to returning to the United States.
